IRON NAVIGATION

Helping Patients and Physicians Navigate Iron Deficiency

Iron deficiency affects millions of Canadians and is one of the most common medical conditions encountered in clinical practice. It can cause fatigue, reduced exercise tolerance, shortness of breath, brain fog, restless legs, hair loss, and a significant reduction in quality of life. While replacing iron is important, identifying why iron deficiency has developed, and choosing the most appropriate treatment strategy are equally essential.

BridgePoint FeNix provides comprehensive Internal Medicine assessment for patients with iron deficiency and low iron stores. We review your symptoms, medical history, laboratory investigations, and previous treatments to determine the underlying cause of your iron deficiency and develop an individualized management plan.

Depending on your clinical situation, we may recommend additional investigations, oral iron therapy, intravenous (IV) iron, or referral to another specialist when appropriate. We also help navigate insurance coverage and treatment options to identify the most appropriate and cost-effective pathway for your care.

We can help answer questions such as:

  • Why am I iron deficient?

  • • Do I need additional testing to find the cause?

  • • Is oral iron the right treatment for me?

  • • Would IV iron be appropriate?

  • • Do I need referral to another specialist?

  • • What is the most appropriate and cost-effective treatment plan based on my medical history and insurance coverage?

Please note: BridgePoint FeNix accepts patients by physician referral only. We are not a replacement for your family physician. Our role is to provide a focused assessment and a clear navigation plan that can be shared with your care team
